We will discuss the differences between a one-time assistance (grant) and other sources of funding, and pay attention to the fundamentals of business fundraising and its ethical standards. You will learn about inspirational, and most importantly, real, global and Ukrainian business fundraising practices. Finally, you will receive expert advice and create your own winning strategy.

We will talk about the difference between consulting grant applications and innovation or manufacturing applications. Project goal, project target groups, project geography, logic matrix of the project, project resource. This section will cover the application materials and the mechanics of the key points of any grant proposal description. The grant application should be concise, presentable, informative, interconnected. Your application materials will acquire these qualities after this session. You will also learn the way to test a project for reality and get tips on how to reduce redundancy.
How to prepare your business for fundraising? What processes should be conducted and which institutional and technological measures should be taken to meet the grant makers requirements? You will learn the answers to these questions, as well as hear how to prepare your business for long-term interaction with other stakeholders, avoid mistakes and learn about the use of authorities and community cooperation.

Svitlana Olieinikova is an expert in fundraising and social, cultural and business projects development. She is an organizational trainer, author of the Business Support Program. Graduate of the Open World Leadership Centre (USA), Tech Camp (US Embassy) and CRDF (USA), Stanford University’s Center of Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law (USA).
Svitlana Olieinikova is a laureate of the Kyiv City Council Prize for the significant contribution to the entrepreneurship and market infrastructure development in Kyiv and high professionalism (2018). CEO of the consulting company Synergy Development Consulting, as well as co-founder, Chairman of the Board of the International Agency for Change.
She has been working in the field of fundraising for 14 years. The diverse experience in attracting funds to social and commercial projects has been gained during this time. Nowadays, the main attention is focused on the following topics: strategic fundraising; relations with donors and attracting non-reimbursable loan (grants); attraction of non-monetary (benefits in kind) assistance and relations with sponsors; development of social entrepreneurship.
Svitlana has experience in designing and implementing civil society development initiatives both at the regional and national levels within the framework of international technical assistance programs (such as US Embassy in Ukraine, USAID, UNHCR, World Bank, Canadian Local Initiatives Support Fund, DANIDA, UNDP, ECHO, KfW Bank, Chemonics, etc.), as well as advising non-governmental organizations and businesses on the fundraising strategies development..
